Coqodaq: Reviews & Ratings
The place is a hit, getting a reservation is like winning a lottery. Once you tried their amazing food, you know it worthy of the wait and efforts. The star dish is the bucket list, including two types of friend chicken - original and glazed (you can choose from two flavors or do a mix). It is the best Korean fried chicken I had so far, including those I had in Seoul. The original, skin is crisp, meat is soft and tender, filled with flavor. My favorite dip sauce is gochujiang. For glazed, I choose the mix, both soy garlic and gochujiang taste amazingly. There are many side dishes to choose from, I had fennel salad, however the bucket list also comes with scallion salad and kimchi, plus a small bowl of cold noodle, which fresh and tasty, perfect for after eating the friend chicken. For the cocktail, I highly recommend the egg, it's fruity and refreshing.
What a great spot! Would definitely make a reservation, we came with one thankfully on a Sunday evening and on our way out around 7 PM overhead it was a 1.5 hour wait for a table. The food is on point and we shared we just got engaged when making the reservation on resy in the notes, they brought us free chicken nuggets with caviar and put candles in our yogurt as part of bucket we each ordered. The service was one of the best service experiences we have had, on our way to the table alone at least 3 of the staff said welcome to us. When we ordere drinks our waitress waited until my fiancé returned from the bathroom the pour his so it wouldnt get warm. They kept the drinks and food flowing while ensuring our every need was met. Would highly recommend! Oh and the egg cocktail is amazing.
Difficult to get a reservation for two. One opened up for lunch a couple of days before. Beautiful ambience and presentation. It really felt like finding that much more affordable prices. We got the lunch special serving of chicken and rice with a seaweed soup starter, and then we did the chicken bucket and the tuna tartare. The tuna tartare was really fresh, the bread was crispy and fried and heavier than I thought, but very filling. We tried every flavor of fried chicken, I do think the original is the best flavor. Really nice presentation on sauces to go with it. Very great service overall, nice passionfruit on top of yogurt too and the meal. The fried chicken felt very clean and not too heavy, but I did not leave feeling still hungry. To be honest, you could definitely get that good Korean fried chicken at a cheaper price but the setting/restaurant really make it
I love COQODAQ!!! Every time is an amazing experience - I love bringing friends here whenever I’m in the city. Whether it’s for a celebration or a regular day, it’s always an incredible time. The food is so perfect - both a feast for the eyes and the mouth. Champagne and wine selections are so well done, and cocktails and NA options are excellent too! The menu is conscious of dietary restrictions while also leaning towards a shared group-friendly dining experience. Service from the maître d’, host staff, service team, and sommelier were outstanding. Knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming and helpful. The atmosphere is incredible too - fun lighting and decor, fun all around.
Had an early dinner Thursday with my best friend and daughter, the food, atmosphere and service were all amazing. Our server Alina was very attentive, she did a great job explaining the menu to us and recommending some of her favorite dishes. The manager, Thailer also came over to our table more than once to check on us, asked how we were enjoying everything and held some small talk. Good food is one thing, but good service will always be my motivation to return to any business- thankfully i experienced both. Great food & great service.
If you come here just for the vibes, that alone is enough. The restaurant is sexy despite coming for a family friendly Sunday Brunch. The music is also what I call sexy pop. The wash station when you first walk in is very welcoming and very instagrammable. The free coat check is nice as well. It was extremely busy that day (although I expect that it is ALWAYS busy), yet the staff was super friendly and attentive. We all ended up ordering the Brucket List, with the original chicken and 2 different flavors, all the various banchans that it came with, chicken and waffles, the egg cocktail, and 1 single caviar nugget. It is a little faddy and I just wanted to try it. It's not anything stellar to be honest but, when in Rome. All the banchans were tasty. Personally the kimbap was very comforting. We also enjoyed the croquettes and the caviar and tuna tartare hashbrowns. The fermented veggies were nice as well. Overall, we had a very nice time and the price was not bad at all. We will definitely be back.
I would highly recommend reservations for this place. I came on a Sunday early evening and it was pretty busy but I was able to sneak in at the bar. The chicken nuggets with roe and caviar were amazing. Fantastic cocktails that are well balanced and bright. I ordered the gochujang chicken drumbstick as a snack and it comes with a cool sauce rack of 4. The consomme was also super rich and flavorful. The service was also excellent
UPDATED REVIEW - FEBRUARY 2026 My first visit to COQODAQ two months ago was exceptional — so much so that when planning my next NYC trip with family who appreciate perfectly executed bites, this was our one non-negotiable reservation. It was absolutely the right decision. All six of us found cocktails that hit exactly the right note. My Alaska Martini was as beautiful as it was silky. The Espresso Martini paired effortlessly with the soft-serve dessert — one of those combinations you think about long after the meal ends. The Bluefin Tuna Tartare was stunning — vibrant, pristine, and served over ice so the quality spoke for itself. The thin slices of toast were thoughtfully chosen, letting the tuna shine. The generous blanket of grated cheese on the Caesar Salad had all of us diving in. Even the Crown Daisy felt purposeful and aligned with COQODAQ’s point of view. Then came the main event. The chicken was just as spectacular as I remembered. The crunch never wavered — impossibly crisp, remarkably light, and without a trace of greasiness. I’ve yet to experience fried chicken like this anywhere else. Choosing a favorite among the four sauces was impossible; I rotated through all of them, convinced each one was the best. The Spicy Tteokbokki delivered the perfect chew with heat that warmed rather than overwhelmed — absolutely worth ordering. As extraordinary as the food is, it’s the team that elevates COQODAQ. In a city full of outstanding restaurants, the human element is what sets places apart. The warmth, polish, and genuine pride in the room make the experience feel personal and celebratory. Thank you to Wesley, Brandon, Thailer, Paul, Fredric, and Christie for setting the bar so high. COQODAQ remains at the top of my must-visit list every time I’m in the city — a reservation I’ll continue to plan trips around. ORIGINAL REVIEW - DECEMBER 2025 COQODAQ is one of those places that reminds you why dining out can be such a pleasure. The space is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, with an energy you feel the moment you walk in—from the entrance (where you choose the scent for freshly cleaned hands) to the bar and dining room beyond. Nothing feels accidental. The chicken is truly incredible. You can taste the care, research, and intention behind every detail—deeply flavorful, beautifully crisp, and remarkably light, without a hint of heaviness. This is fried chicken done with purpose, and it shows. It’s easy to see why COQODAQ has earned Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition, and I sincerely hope that turns into well-deserved stars this year. The hospitality matched the food: warm, polished, and attentive without ever feeling inauthentic. Wesley, Simon, Chef SK, Ian and Brandon each played a role in creating an evening that felt celebratory and special. I love that my kids understand that food experiences worth seeking out should be filled with joy, happiness, and exceptional food—and COQODAQ delivers on all of it. This is a restaurant one happily plan trips around.
